“McBride never disappoints” – JazzTimes

Four-time Grammy-winning bassist Christian McBride can be likened to a force of nature, fusing the fire and fury of a virtuoso with the depth and grounding of a seasoned journeyman. Powered by a relentless energy and a boundless love of swing, McBride’s path has been a continuous positive arc since his arrival on the scene. With a career now blazing into its third decade, the Philadelphia native has become one of the most requested, recorded, and respected figures, not just in jazz, but in the entire world of music. He has worked not only with jazz greats like Sonny Rollins and Herbie Hancock, but also with R&B and pop stars including James Brown, Sting, and the Roots. And there hasn’t even been mention of his classical music career that has seen him work with the likes of Kathleen Battle and Edgar Meyer. But even with his extensive, diversified résumé, McBride shines brightest in a small jazz group, and with drummer Nasheet Waits, saxophonist Marcus Strickland, and trumpeter Josh Evans, he has created a high-powered, energized unit.
