CD Release Party
“One of the best working bands in New York City!” The New York Times
Help the Matt Wilson Quartet and John Medeski celebrate the release of their upcoming collaborative album Gathering Call at Jazz at the Bistro! The album is set to be released on January 21st, 2014.
In 1996, drummer Matt Wilson realized his dream of having a working jazz band when he formed the Matt Wilson Quartet. Since that time, bassist Chris Lightcap, reed man Jeff Lederer, and trumpeter Kirk Knuffke have delighted audiences throughout the world with their acclaimed recordings and exciting live performances. These cats are not only extraordinary musicians but wonderful human beings who love to have a good time! The Matt Wilson Quartet is dedicated to bringing music to the people that is not afraid to challenge AND entertain. They have fun and so will you! Pianist John Medeski of Medeski, Martin, and Wood joins the Matt Wilson Quartet for a show you can only catch at a handful of places this year!
Due to severe weather on the east coast, the Matt Wilson Quartet’s flights were cancelled for tomorrow, with no options for them to get to St. Louis in time for their performances. Due to this, we have moved Wednesday’s performances to this coming Monday, January 27th. All other performances will go on as scheduled.
Patrons with tickets for Wednesday night’s performance can use them for the corresponding set on Monday, or return them to their original point of purchase for a full refund. Please direct any questions to the Jazz St. Louis box office at 314.289.4030. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
