Jazz St. Louis’s 20th season presenting the uniquely American art of jazz will also be the first season in its new home, The Harold & Dorothy Steward Center for Jazz. Construction is underway on this new Center for Jazz, which will house the completely renovated and redesigned Ferring Jazz Bistro, home to Jazz at the Bistro, and the Centene Jazz Education Center, all part of a $10 million capital campaign that was announced by Jazz St. Louis in May. The 2014-15 Wells Fargo Advisors Jazz at the Bistro Season includes St. Louis natives and favorites, imaginative pairings, exciting debuts, and industry mainstays. Subscriptions are on sale now with single tickets going on sale September 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

The season begins with a Grand Opening Celebration for the new Steward Center for Jazz featuring the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis on Friday, October 3, 2014. Widely regarded as the greatest big band in the world today, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will play a rare show in a club of this size to inaugurate the new Jazz at the Bistro stage.

The following week, the Jazz at the Bistro Subscription Series kicks off with another rare club performance, this time from St. Louis-native saxophonist David Sanborn (October 8-11). Since his days growing up in Kirkwood, Sanborn has gone on to become one of the most commercially successful saxophonists of all-time, delving into the world of smooth and contemporary jazz, before making a recent return to his soul jazz roots.
