Single Tickets On Sale Soon!

Gene Dobbs Bradford

It’s that time of year again! Single tickets for the 2009-2010 Jazz at the Bistro season go on sale Tuesday, August 18 at 10 a.m. This year we are celebrating our 15th season of providing the best jazz in St. Louis. In doing so, we will feature many Jazz at the Bistro favorites that you have come to love over the past decade and a half. Artists such as Kenny Garrett, Christian McBride, Freddy Cole, Joey DeFrancesco and Marlena Shaw will make their long awaited returns, while annual crowd pleasers Jeremy Davenport and The Bad Plus will perform.

Debuting at the Bistro are seasoned veterans Stanley Jordan and John Patitucci as well as up-and-comers Vijay Iyer, Alyssa Graham and Robert Glasper, who postponed last season’s concerts. Jazz at the Bistro also offers the best local and regional talent as part of its Spotlight Series. Bistro favorite Good 4 the Soul and newcomers such as Matthew Von Doran and Chicago-based saxophonist Frank Catalano will play. The Spotlight Series also features Wee Trio, a Brooklyn-based group with bassist Dan Loomis, a St. Louis native.

Local favorites Scott Alberici and Reggie Thomas will kick off the season on September 4 and 5, followed by a special event with The Jazz Cruise All-Stars on September 12. The Subscription Series will begin September 23-26 with St. Louis’ own MAXJAZZ recording artist Mulgrew Miller Trio returning to the Bistro for the first time in over two years.

Tickets for all these shows and many more can be purchased Tuesday, August 18, at 10:00 a.m. by calling the Jazz St. Louis box office at 314.289.4030 or Metrotix at 314.534.1111 or toll-free at 800.293.5949. Tickets will also be available at www.metrotix.com as well as at any Metrotix box office location.

Make sure to check out the Jazz at the Bistro Upcoming Events page on the website for more information on all of this season’s shows. I hope to see you at the Bistro come September!
